Croatia


This information is intended to be read in conjunction with Credit for Prior Learning in the Education of Registered Nurses.

Unless clearly demonstrated to the contrary, it should be presumed that persons educated as nurses or medical sisters in Croatia were educated at secondary school level and would therefore be considered under category three in the abovementioned document.

Persons educated as "higher medical sisters" will usually have completed post-secondary courses and, depending on the duration of education at post-secondary level, may be eligible for consideration under category two in the abovementioned document.

In recent years there is an increased likelihood that education may have been at post-secondary level.  However it should be noted that some nurses have completed an academic secondary school course and then completed a shorter secondary school vocational nursing course. Although undertaken after completion of secondary school, these nursing courses consist of the vocational subjects from secondary school and are studied at secondary school level.

The following notes are subject to change as additional information becomes available. When reviewed, AEI-NOOSR listed only one university as "Higher Education, section 1" without also being listed in a second category such as "Higher Education, section 2" or "Technical and Vocational Education".
